Hand-painted cakes for the days you'll never forget
A small family bakery on East 6th Street. Every tier is baked to order, every flower is painted by hand — and gluten-free and vegan versions are always on the menu.
Cakes that look the way the memory feels
Buttercream painted like watercolour, sugar petals pressed one at a time, and crumb that's still soft on day two. Here's a look at what leaves our kitchen.
Wedding tiers, painted by hand
Two to five tiers in vanilla bean, brown butter or lemon-elderflower — finished with brushstroke florals matched to your bouquet.
Celebration cakes & cupcakes
Birthdays, showers, retirements and "just because" Fridays. Single rounds, sheet cakes, and cupcakes by the dozen.

Seventeen years, one very small oven to start
Maria Alvarez began taking cake orders from her kitchen table in East Austin in 2009 — mostly quinceañeras, mostly for neighbours. When the orders outgrew the house, the family took the little storefront on East 6th Street and kept the same rule: nothing leaves unless it would be good enough for family.
She trained as a painter before she trained as a baker, which is why the florals on our cakes are brushed rather than piped. Her husband Daniel runs the front counter, and their daughter Camila handles the vegan and gluten-free program — a menu she built after years of baking around her own celiac diagnosis.
Everything is made in-house each morning: butter, cream, real vanilla, Texas fruit when it's in season. No mixes, no fondant shortcuts, no cake sitting in a case for three days.
— Maria, Daniel & Camila
"A cake only gets one moment. We make it so people stop talking when it comes out."
- Family owned — three generations in the kitchen, no franchise, no central bakery.
- Painted by hand — florals brushed with edible colour, never printed transfers.
- Diet-friendly — gluten-free and vegan builds for every cake on the menu.
- Baked daily — the case is filled fresh from 8am, Tuesday to Sunday.
What Austin says after the last slice
The wedding cake was three tiers of painted peonies and it looked like a canvas. Half our guests photographed it before anyone would let us cut it. The lemon-elderflower tier disappeared first.
Renata & Chris O. — wedding, 180 guests
My daughter is coeliac and has spent years watching other kids eat birthday cake. Camila made her a gluten-free chocolate cake she cried over. Genuinely the nicest thing anyone has done for us.
Yolanda M. — 9th birthday
We order eight dozen cupcakes for our office every quarter. Always on time, always half of them vegan, and nobody can ever tell which half. The seasonal peach ones ruined me for other bakeries.
